May is National Youth Traffic Safety Month™ and we are excited to support the National Organization for Youth Safety® in their effort to promote safe driving habits for teen drivers. We will be working with NBC5 in Dallas to promote and highlight the importance of helping teens learn how to drive safely.
We invited Lorrie Servati, from Nathans Voice to be a guest blogger during Autism Awareness Month. In Part 1 Lorrie shares with us some things to remember around the subject of wandering. In Part 2 Lorrie and shares her personal PocketFinder experience.
One of the best parts of working for a technology company is how our PocketFinder Personal and Vehicle Locators continue to help so many different communities across the country and spreading around the world. From families with teen drivers to moms with special needs children, technology in the last decade has played a massive role in enhancing the communication, coordination and connectivity between our loved ones.
PocketFinder® President, Joe Scalisi, said: “West Coast Customs® and Location Based Technologies is a perfect partnership. We’re both committed to quality, innovation, loyalty to our customers and have strong family values. We’re excited to co-brand with West Coast Customs® and look forward to working with Ryan and the team.”
Wow what a journey! PocketFinder® successfully reached over 106,685 feet inside the payload designed and launched by the High Altitude Balloon Club at Forrest View Middle School in North Central Minnesota! This was the first time we sponsored a project that would send a PocketFinder into the upper stratosphere. Not surprisingly, this is the highest our devices have ever been so we were excited to see how the devices would perform after being that high. We were very happy when we saw the rugged GPS device come back into wireless range and successfully provide a location.
Not only did the device work under these extreme conditions, but the PocketFinder saved the project from becoming lost when it returned to earth!
PocketFinder contributed to a number of incredible causes this past month. We highlighted our participation in the Carmel 9/11 “Resolve & Remembrance” Memorial, which raised funds for the FireFighter’s fund.
We’d like to share another cause with you. The Zeta Beta Tau “Get on the Ball” event raised money and awareness for the Children’s National Medical Center. We were very happy to contribute.
Today PocketFinder® was featured by Dr. Gadget on Extra! Shot on location at The Grove in LA, both Dr. Gadget and Mario Lopez showcased the PocketFinder Personal GPS Locators to the live audience and viewers across the US. Many people from the audience walked away with FREE devices! If you were not able to come out to The Grove today, check out the clip and photos from behind the scenes.

These are some of the titles you can find in the review sections for PocketFinder People and Vehicle devices on Apple.com. Both devices currently have a 5 star ratings and user feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Users are providing real examples of how they are using the personal and vehicle GPS locators to improve their lives and why they are so happy with them.
What an honor!!! Ross Rubin included PocketFinder GPS locators in The 2011 Switchies Awards List. Ross is an expert in consumer technology and we are so proud and happy to receive this honor for the GPS location technology category! Ross provides weekly contributions to the “Switched On” column for Engadget. He is regarded as a top consumer technology analyst and commentator.
